3-D Printing @ the Library

makerbot replicator 2Thanks to an anonymous donation, we are now able to provide 3-D printing & scanning services.

There are many ways for you to learn about and make use of our 3-D printing technology.

1 Send us a 3-D file and pick up the print job at your convenience.

Simply email us at and attach your 3-D file (preferably .stl)to be placed in the printer queue. There is a change for this service of $2.00 per hour of printing.  We make every effort to complete all print jobs within a week but depending on demand wait times may be longer.  Please indicate your preferred color and any other notes in the email.  While we will consult with the sender of any file if a problem arises we are not ultimately responsible for print failures.

2.  Use the 3-D printer and scanner at the library

Make a reservation to use the 3-D printer & scanner on your own.  Please call the library (203) 453-8282, to reserve the 3-D printer.  Up to 4 people at a time can reserve the 3-D printer and scanner for up to 2 hours a week.  We have a very flexible schedule and can almost always accommodate your desired time slot.

You will need to arrange a brief orientation prior to your first unsupervised use.  If you have attended one of our workshops you are already ready to start.  You also need sign a waiver agreeing to all of our policies in order to use the printer.

3. Attend one of our workshops or drop-in sessions

The group class schedule is always being adjusted to meet demand.  Please check the current listings on our Events page or contact us directly at (203) 453-8282 to set up an appointment for an introduction to this new technology.
