What do solar storms, particles, and uncertainty have in common? They’re all created by the “Quantum Factory” of our universe! Come listen to Yale graduate students Daryl Seligman, Charles Brown, and Jeremy Galson discuss some of the most interesting observations from our physical universe and the fascinating applications that these discoveries offer. This talk will explore the vastness of the Quantum Factory and cover topics ranging from stellar astrophysics to neutrinos to quantum computing. The paradoxes of the universe await you!

This is the second program in series of “Science in the News” lectures, dedicated to providing people with a better understanding of the scientific underpinnings of the issues in the news every day. Other topics in the series are:

Hacking the Genetic Code: Editing Our Destiny – Wednesday, April 20 at 7 pm.
