Guilford teacher Maya Schofield will lead a four-part series on mindfulness. We all live busy lives, being pulled in different directions all at once. Our “To Do” lists are never ending. Come to GFL to return to the present moment with a mindfulness practice.
What is mindfulness? Mindfulness is paying attention to the present moment, in a kind and non-judgmental way. Studies suggest that cultivating a mindfulness practice can have physical, psychological, and social benefits.
Maya Schofield is an elementary school teacher with Guilford Public Schools where she teaches mindfulness to students, faculty and staff. She has recently completed the Teacher Training Program with Mindful Schools and is a certified meditation teacher through MNDFL NYC and The Mindfulness Center in Bethesda, MD. She is passionate about sharing and cultivating simple, everyday practices for improving physical and emotional well-being.
This 4-week program is designed for participants:.
- To learn about mindfulness and practice various techniques.
- To develop a consistent, personal mindfulness practice.
Please wear comfortable clothing. You may bring a yoga mat or blanket to practice on if you wish.
Mondays from 4 to 5 pm, July 15, 22, 29 & August 5. Please plan on attending all four sessions.
