If you or someone you care for is dealing with Opiate / Heroin Addiction, or if you would simply like to learn more about this pressing public health issue, come to the library to hear Dr. Marc Bono discuss the opiate addiction epidemic.

Dr. Bono will discuss topics such as helping family members with addiction, physical aspects of addiction, best treatment practices, use of medication in the treatment of opiate addiction, and the impact of mental illness on addiction.

Dr. Marc Bono is a national expert in treatment of addiction and mental illness and has been practicing addiction therapy for over twenty years. Recognizing that opiate addiction rates would rise significantly this decade, he co-founded The Center for Compassionate Recovery to offer a medication assisted/psychotherapy model of treatment to combat the crisis at the core level, by treating the person, not just the addiction. CCR is based in Madison, Connecticut.
