Spring Book Sale
The daffodils and tulips have bloomed, maybe the rain has stopped, and the Friends’ Spring Book Sale has had its moment in the sun. Its offerings of books on gardening, travel, birding, and other vernal topics brought in $5663, a record for the spring sale. Thanks to all the volunteers who donated their time and energy.
The Spring Trip
This year’s outing, to the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, was well-attended, well-run, and altogether enjoyable. The bus, with its 50 passengers, arrived on time both at the museum and back in Guilford. The exhibits on Matisse and Botticelli were exceptional, and for Friends with fond memories of childhood, the Robert McCloskey show was a special treat. Penny Colby, chief organizer of the trip, commented on the camaraderie and sportsmanship of the group, and noted that even three days in the museum would not be long enough to see everything.
