				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://guilfordfreelibrary.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Wonder-Woman-The-Untold-Story-of-American-Superheroines.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-9898" alt="Wonder Woman The Untold Story of American Superheroines" src="http://guilfordfreelibrary.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Wonder-Woman-The-Untold-Story-of-American-Superheroines-224x300.jpg" width="140" height="188" /></a>“<strong><em>Wonder Women!  The Untold Story of American Superheroines</em></strong>” is an independent documentary film that looks at female superheroes and icons of women’s empowerment in pop culture.  The film goes behind the scenes with Lynda Carter, Lindsay Wagner, and real life superheroines such as Gloria Steinem, to offer an enlightening and entertaining counterbalance to the male dominated superhero genre.  From the birth of the comic book superheroine in the 1940s to the blockbusters of today, “Wonder Women” looks at how popular representations of powerful women often reflect society’s anxieties about women’s liberation.</p>
<p>Discussion to follow with moderator, Marsha Bansavage.</p>
<p><strong>This program will be held Tuesday, May 28 at 7 pm running until 9 pm.  </strong></p>
