Carl A. Balestracci Jr. will talk about the culture and style of living of the local native americans before 1639. His presentation will include artifacts and stone tools used by the natives to plant their crops, hunt and fish and preserve food for the harsh winters. Stories of Shaumpishuh, squaw sachem of the Menuncatuck Tribe and Uncas, sachem of the Mohegan tribe will be featured.
Carl will be joined by Joya Helander who will discuss the recent project archiving local native american artifacts.
